I took this picture the other day at around 9am. I just wanted to capture a moment of normalcy at the Owen house - Jack running around in his diaper & toys strewn on the living room floor.
Although this is definitely normal, we do try to follow the "one big toy or one basket of little toys at a time" rule. I discovered a long time ago that if all the toys are always accessible, none of them actually get played with. They simply get destroyed & the kids complain of being bored. What?! This doesn't happen as often when I pull out just a few at a time.
We also do a "quick clean" before naptime, before bedtime, and before we leave the house if we have somewhere to go. Now if only I worked on the dishes & the laundry that much, I'd be getting somewhere...
