Home Tour, Part 2

Here's the Kitchen/Dining Area.

I so do not deserve that kitchen.  It's amazing.  And I'm anything but an amazing cook.

But it has definitely made my (mis)adventures in the kitchen way more fun!  The kitchen table is where we usually eat breakfast & lunch.  It's also where we do preschool stuff.

We usually eat dinner in the Dining Room.  I decided awhile back to work hard to preserve dinner time - to try to make it "sacred."  To me, this means sitting down with the whole family every evening and having a civil meal.  That might sound silly but it's crazy how easily that stuff goes out the window when you have two little ones.  And I've noticed that when dinner time goes awry, everything else goes downhill pretty fast.  But when we're good about preserving dinner time, the rest of the day seems to go better (in terms of obedience from the kids and joy in my heart).

Something about making that family connection over a meal.  Reminds me of a Ronald Reagan quote:  "All great change in America begins at the dinner table."  Welp, that's all I've got for today.  But we'd love for you join us for dinner some time (or breakfast or lunch)!  I promise I'll try not to mess up the meal :)
