My Superman, My Jack Bauer, My Spiderman, You get the point...

I wrote this post last year, but apparently I never published it. I'm always afraid of sounding too preachy. But I decided to go ahead and publish it anyways. If for no other reason than to keep records of various ways that I have grown and changed in my relationship with Christ. So here's a valentine's day post from last year (that I updated just a tiny bit):

No, this post is not about Josh. Although I have called him all of those things before.

In fact, three years ago I made him some valentine cards that portrayed him as Superman and Jack Bauer. It was pretty sweet. And super cheesy. But what's Valentine's Day without the cheese?

Anyways, that's beside the point.

This post is about the man who has saved me in a way that no one else can. The man who has walked on water. The man who has calmed the sea. The man who climbed up onto the cross and died.

Jesus Christ.

He loves me and He'll do anything for me.

God brought me into a saving relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, when I was eleven years old. And He has continued to reveal more and more of His love to me, as I've continued to fall more deeply in love with Him over the past fifteen years.

I'm writing this post for this particular day because as a single college girl, I always seemed to struggle on Valentine's Day. Now looking back, I kinda giggle at myself for the sadness I felt on Valentine's Day, but I want to help others to escape that feeling.

The point is that if you have Christ, you have the greatest love of all. You can rest in His arms and know that He has already taken care of you and He will never let you go.

A mere man can NEVER EVER fill that void, that desire, that longing that God put in each of us as women. Only Christ can truly save us.

When I was in college, I read "Do You Think I'm Beautiful?" by Angela Thomas. It's a great book and I highly recommend it. I also recommend reading Her Hands by Heather Hendrick, which goes further to explain the role of women and how we are loved and how we are to love others.

But most of all, I want you to know that God loves you. Enjoy the song and I pray that tomorrow you can bask in His love!
