She had been anticipating baby Joshua's birth about as much as Josh and I did, not only because it's the first boy in her family, but because the pregnancy took such a toll on my body and she was so sweet to spend several weekends up here taking care of me and Riley while Josh worked. So needless to say, she couldn't wait for this baby to arrive.
And then on Wednesday, believe it or not, she got strep throat, with a fever and all. She immediately got on antibiotics but wanted to wait until she was sure we wouldn't catch it before coming to meet him.
Thus, today she finally got to meet Joshua! I was so happy for her. She just held him for most of the day. And fyi, he looks exactly like I did as a baby so she said it felt like holding me when I was born. Here she is, enjoying time with her grandbabies:
