17 for 17 Months

I missed Riley's 17 month birthday on Wednesday, so this post is three days late. But I wanted to honor her 17 month birthday by listing 17 things I love about her.
Here we go:

I love...

1. how she counts, sometimes with her fingers and sometimes with words (1, 2, 3).

2. how she raises her hands in worship.

3. how she says, "ROAR!" when you ask her what a bear says.

4. how she knows "tee tee" and the sign for toilet, and she correctly uses each when she's peeing or pooping. Yup, it's true.

5. how she obeys when I tell her to put all the toys back in the basket. Yay! (But she doesn't always obey when I tell her she can't get them out in the first place. She can create what we call the "Riley Tornado" in seconds. Not cool.)

6. how she spots a "baby" wherever we go and loves to show them to me.

7. how every animal she sees is a "ruff ruff."

8. how she's becoming much better at adjusting to new places and warming up to new people (but too much newness can still be hard for her at times).

9. how she's obsessed with Mama's belly button (it'll be interesting to show it to her after the baby's born when it's back to semi-normal).

10. how she says "eek" for "cheek."

11. how she gives great hugs and kisses - such a sweet cuddler these days!

12. how she knows the Chicken Dance, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Rise & Shine, and the JOY chant (from Camp Ozark).

13. how she blows on her food and waves her hands over it when I tell her it's hot.

14. how she loves to color. She puts her whole body into it. (But she hasn't yet mastered the art of sharing her crayons... we're working on that.)

15. how she tries to mimic me as I clean the countertops. She likes to have a napkin so she can wipe down the table too.

16. how she DANCES!!! This girl will move to any music and she makes up new moves every day, even getting on her knees and spinning on the floor. If I want a good laugh, I just play some music and watch her go at it. She has really good rhythm too. And I've taught her a few things like pointing and flexing her toes and a few more advanced dance moves. She amazes me!

17. how she LOVES to snuggle with her Dada. If he's home before bedtime, that's all she wants to do. Here's a picture to prove it:
