Learning to Multi-task

I've always admired moms who can multi-task.

Ok, not just "admired." That's the wrong word.

I adore these moms. I want to be these moms.

In the back of my mind I've always feared that I just won't be able to do the whole "mom" thing because I simply can't multi-task. C'mon, you read below (in "I've Been Tagged")that I can't drive and talk on the phone at the same time. That's just one small example of my inability to multi-task.

Well, today I reached a milestone.

I multi-tasked three times. Did you see that? Three times!

I feel like saying, "One small step for mothers, one giant leap for Kelly."

Lame, I know. But that's how victorious I feel right now.

So what were my multi-tasking activities, you ask. I will tell you.

1. I listened to an online sermon while nursing.

2. I bounced the bouncer with my foot while cutting coupons and meal planning. (I'm bouncing the bouncer right now as I type, too.)

3. I spoke on the phone while matching socks.

Obviously my multi-tasking is nothing to brag about. That's my point. I want to hear how you moms out there do it. What types of multi-tasking activities do you do? Let me know in the comments section.

I remember when Michael was tiny and I held him (before the days of the sling) and made a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich...pretty cool.

You are an awesome mom and Riley is blessed.

Wow Kathryn, you handled a knife and a baby at the same time. That is definitely a super mom power.

It brings my heart such joy to see you thriving as Riley's momma. She is truly blessed. There are just so many mommy skills that can only be learned in the moment. You are well on your way.
I can't think of my multitasking moments. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
