I've Been Tagged

I was tagged quite some time ago, so it's about time I do this.

Here are the official rules:

1. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Write 6 random things about yourself.
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
4. If you are tagged, DO IT and pass it along.

Here are my six random things. Enjoy!

1. I wish I were a nurse. I think nurses are the coolest people ever! Besides being obsessed with comfy scrubs, being in the hospital for seven days when I had Riley reminded me of what an awesome ministry nurses get to be a part of. When I was in college, I foolishly didn't really think about my career choice. But if I ever get the chance to go back to school, I want to become a nurse. I absolutely love studying and going to class (I'm a total nerd), so going back to school would be no big deal, except that I just had a baby. Now that Riley's in my life, I don't want to leave her. I am so grateful to only be working part time and getting to spend most of the day with her. Being a mom is probably a cooler job than being a nurse. :)

2. Since having Riley, I still can't fit my rings on my fingers. My Aunt Sandra said that her fingers never went back to their normal size after having a baby. Hmmm... who knew? Anyways, for now I'm wearing my rings on a necklace and that's fine with me.

3. In ninth grade, I learned how to Irish dance. To do this day, sometimes I do a little jig in my kitchen. I can't help it. It's just fun. I put on some Irish tunes and dance. Maybe I'm giving a little too much information, but some days I even watch Riverdancers on youtube. Here, I've posted a link in case you want to experience the awesomeness that is Riverdance. And writing about this made me remember that old Folger's commercial called "A Dancer's Morning." I loved that commercial, so I posted a link to that too.

4. I would live off of cereal if it was considered a socially acceptable thing to do (and if it provided all of the nutrients I needed). From Crispix and Raisin Bran to Apple Jacks and Frosted Mini Wheats, the selections are endless. And I get to drown it all in one of my favorite drinks, milk. Best of all, cereal requires absolutely no preparation! (Don't worry. I don't actually live off of cereal. I'm simply saying that if the world's supply of meat and vegetables suddenly vanished, I'd be totally okay with a cereal alternative.)

5. I think the label maker is one of the greatest inventions. I went crazy this summer and labeled almost every nook and cranny of my house. It's scary how much I like that thing.

6. I can't drive and talk on the phone at the same time. It's pathetic. But at least I've resolved not to cause accidents, so I will NOT answer the phone when I'm driving. And if I absolutely MUST make a phone call while I'm on the road, I will pull over. Not kidding.

There ya have it; those were my six things. Sorry Jenn, I couldn't get Josh to come up with six random things about himself. So here are six random things that I came up about him:

1. Josh dreams of encountering a bear one day. He was sorely disappointed that we didn't see one when we were at Yellowstone on our honeymoon. However, he regularly talks about when we saw bear tracks during our trail ride. That's as close as we got to making his dream come true. (He even carried bear spray with him when we were at Yellowstone.)

2. Josh plays the guitar. He was leading worship for a youth organization when I fell in love with him. Guys, take note: a young man who is pouring his heart out to God and teaching others to do the same is extremely attractive!

3. Josh is obsessed with the fact that Riley looks like him. If you've been to our house, he's probably showed you the bump on Riley's right ear that is identical to the bump on his right ear. Now that's one proud papa!

4. Unlike most guys, Josh actually likes maps. He owns three atlases and whenever we're on a road trip, he makes me get out the map every couple hours and determine precisely how many miles we have left to go. I can't wait until Riley's old enough to add because counting miles isn't my favorite thing to do on a trip. (Besides, I'm always way off... sometimes I just wait until we see a sign that says something like "Austin 32 miles" and then try to pretend that I used the map to determine the mileage.)

5. Josh makes an incredible java shake. If you ever have to stay up late studying, stop by our house and have Josh make you one. You won't regret it!

6. Josh always has a pocket knife on him. This got us in trouble when we were trying to board the plane for our honeymoon. He forgot to take it out of his pocket. But lo and behold, they eventually let us on (they confiscated the knife, of course.)

I now tag Sarah, Becca, Kathryn, Amy, Whitney, and Catherine. I hope I didn't pick someone who has already been tagged before because it was so hard to pick only six people to tag. If I wasn't such a rule-follower, I'd just tag all of my friends!
