Date Night

Josh's mom is in town and she offered to babysit Riley. My mom gave us a Cinemark gift card. Thanks to them, we're going on a date to see Fireproof tonight after church.

I truly can't wait! I've been counting down the days to see this movie since I first saw the trailer in June. It's the first time I've been excited about a movie in years.

Here are just a few things I've learned about the production:

Kirk Cameron wouldn't kiss anyone but his wife, so they made the kissing scene a silhouette.

The cast and crew did an on-set devotional every morning and stopped work to pray oftentimes throughout the day.

The movie only cost $500,000 to produce.

Despite the fact that it was only playing at 839 screens across the country, it ranked No. 4 at the box office on opening weekend.

It's more than just a movie. You can buy the book, "The Love Dare," to help you restore your own marriage and learn how to love your spouse more deeply.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to tonight and I even got a haircut this morning so I'm ready. It's our first date night since Riley was born. Yipee!
