Riley has a new playmate. Her name is Hayley. She's a little sweetheart.
Hayley is about a month younger than Riley. Her dad works with Josh and he mentioned last week that their daycare just wasn't working for them. Hayley's dad asked Josh if I would be interested in babysitting her, so we agreed to go for it.
Hayley is here M-F, 7:30-4:30. I am getting a small taste of what it might be like to have twins. I must say, I'm loving it! I was a little nervous about it at first, but both girls are adjusting wonderfully. Amazingly, they are both taking a morning nap at about the same time and an afternoon nap at about the same time. Hayley naps in our bedroom. And they each have a playpen with their own toys scattered around. The only thing I'm starting to miss is our daily walks, since I don't have a double stroller. Other than that, I'm happy being at home with two baby girls to cuddle and love on!
With Hayley being here, I've really noticed how much of Riley is just her personality and not "baby." It's so funny. Compared to Hayley, Riley is such a mover! She never stops kicking her legs. I had stopped noticing it, but now that I see a still baby all day, I notice it again. And Hayley goes right to sleep when you rock her, while Riley only gets more excited if you rock her. Riley has a "resting" eating personality (meaning she takes a few sips and then needs a break, then takes a few more sips), while Hayley just guzzles the bottle right down. Those are just some of the differences I've noticed in the two babies.
Okay, I must get back to tending babies. Have a joyous day!
