I've never been much of a picture person. And by that I mean that I never have a camera with me, so I rarely ever take pictures. Josh and I have been so bad about taking pictures of our first year of marriage. Believe it or not, that picture of us on the top right of this blog was from our honeymoon. That was a year ago and I couldn't find any pictures of us since then. Yikes!
So I'm resolving to become a picture person. I refuse to let Riley's first year of life go by without capturing it all on camera.
That being said, I knew I had a lot of fun things going on last weekend and I was determined to remember my camera. Well, I failed that mission. I only remembered to take my camera to one thing. That one thing involved a pool, so once I was wet, I didn't feel like drying off just to use the camera. All that to say that I only ended up with one picture from the whole weekend! Here it is:

Adorable, huh?! Josh had been giving swim lessons to these precious girls at the beginning of the summer and last weekend we got to see them really swim! I was so proud of them. Way to go, Anika and Ariana!
That picture was taken at a birthday pool party for Kaylene and the Whites. It was so much fun. I got to laugh at all of the people playing watermelon football. And then I got to laugh at myself when I discovered how funny it is to float on your back when you're eight months pregnant... seriously, it looked like I had my own watermelon popping out of the pool.
I don't have pictures from the rest of the weekend, but I have to blog about it anyways. Our dear friends, the Patricks, came to College Station and we got to meet little Benjamin! He was five weeks old and it was such a blessing for me and Josh to
get a taste of what it's like to have a newborn. Josh even changed his first diaper! Thank you, Derek and Sarah for risking Benjamin's life to teach Josh how to change a diaper. Ok, Josh actually didn't do a bad job. But it was still funny. To top off the weekend, friends from Living Hope threw me a beautiful baby shower. It was such a blessing to hear them pray over every aspect of Riley's life, from her safe delivery to her salvation to the man she is going to marry one day. May she be a woman after God's heart and may God use Josh and I to teach her of His wonderful love.
Oh, the next time you see me, ask me if I have my camera with me. I might need some accountability to make this goal happen.

Hey Kelly and Josh! I'm so excited about your blog! I'm an avid blog checker. Unfortunately I wasn't good at the actually blogging when I had one. I want to commend you on blogging 3 times since July 25th! That's pretty good!
