I hope this letter finds all of you resting in God's grace no matter where you are. And I hope you get to enjoy plenty of warm blankets, hot chocolate, and good conversation this winter season - I know I plan to! Since I've clearly neglected our blog, I thought I'd jump back into it with a letter updating everyone on our past year. So here it goes.
We bought our first house in February. We are living in Montgomery, TX and we have loved making our house a home! We have also gotten to be part of a church plant called Christ Community Church of Magnolia (or C3). We are grateful for our community of believers and we pray that God continues to work through this new church.
Josh began working at Moorhead Junior High in Conroe ISD last January. He also taught summer school and in August he became the manager of a program called PASS, which helps disadvantaged students master two grades in one year. In addition, he just finished coaching football and he will be coaching track and soccer in the Spring. He also has the privilege of leading FCA. Josh is really enjoying working with his students and we are very thankful for his job!
I, Kelly, am so blessed to get to stay home with the kids. Of course the job can be tiring at times (like any job), but I am truly grateful to be the one that gets to watch them grow and learn new things. I get to spend about 30 minutes of one-on-one time with Riley each day while we do preschool together. We are both loving it!
Riley is three years old now and she is absolutely cracking us up with the things she says. She is still our gentle, quiet-natured child who warms our hearts on a daily basis. Her favorite things right now (in her own words) are "Jesus, donkeys, purple toes, Bible time, flowers, and everything."
Jack is 20 months old now and he is still our energetic and outgoing child. He makes friends with anyone he meets. His favorite things right now (in Mommy's words) are blankie, the outdoors, food, footballs, and people!
That about sums up our adventures of 2011. Like all families, we have our difficult moments, but we are truly overcome with joy and thanksgiving to God for all He has blessed us with - namely His Son, Jesus Christ. And we pray that you receive the blessings of Christ as well.
Love,
Kelly (for the Owen Family)
*Special thanks to Austin and Leslie for capturing these moments on camera!
