We've been doing a Thankful Tree since the beginning of November. (Check out the blogs I follow on the right if you don't know what that is.) Our tree is kind of ghetto but we're having a lot fun with it! I didn't think Riley would really understand it, but apparently she does and it's super cute. Every day we recite our verse (Psalm 118:1) and then name what we're thankful for.
Here are some of the answers:
Riley - Daddy, Mimi's House, Backpack, Church, Bubbles, Chips, Music
Kelly - Eyes to see God's perspective, the privilege to Vote, Cold Weather, Baby Giggles, Dr. Bacak, a Crockpot, a Camera, Kind Neighbors
Josh - Our Marriage, Freedom, a Car, a roof over our heads, Riley & Jack, Tylenol, a Clean House & Scented Candles
We're also asking people to come alongside us this week and pray for two things.
First, ask God to give Josh a new job that will provide for us financially and allow him to utilize his gifts and talents. And pray that we continue to live contently and joyfully right where God has us as we pursue other job opportunities. (For those of you who might not know, Josh is still working at Blue Baker and we are very grateful for that job; we just know it will not be his career and as our family grows, our financial needs are growing too.)
Secondly, pray for my sister, Katherine, and Josh's sister, Elisa. They are both about to have their babies and become first-time moms. Pray that their babies are healthy and their deliveries are smooth and uncomplicated. May the Creator be glorified as we celebrate these new little lives!!!
As you pray, remember we serve an all-powerful God who sent His Son to die on the cross that we may have eternal life with Him. His love for us is amazing. Thanks for doing life with us! We love you guys.
