Ten Months

Riley turned ten months old on Saturday and I can't get over how big she's getting! She seems like a little toddler to me now, not a baby anymore. She is doing so many new things and we have been so busy at this house. She is definitely keeping me on my toes these days. But she's just so incredibly happy that I feel like the most blessed mom ever. (Ok, I should rephrase that. She's happy when she's in a familiar environment with mom or dad. She's still not that happy in the nursery or with a babysitter.)

Anyways, that smile in the picture above (which was taken on Saturday) is a typical scene at our house. She flashes that huge smile all day long and it makes my heart melt.

Riley Jane, you are such a joy to us and we are so grateful to God for you!

Here are just some of the new things she LOVES:

1. Finger foods - Yup, she eats grown-up food now. I started it last Monday and now she only wants what we're eating. She could entertain herself all day with cheerios and puffs if I let her. She mostly eats with her left hand, just fyi.

2. Pool/bath time - Josh wanted to go to the pool for Father's Day, so that's what we did. And we discovered that she now loves the pool! She just splashed and laughed the whole time. She didn't want to leave. On Friday we got a hippo baby pool that she obviously loves.

3. Her new ball - It lights up and plays music. She's happy just chasing it around the house.

4. DaDa - Starting on Father's Day (crazy, huh?), she totally became a Daddy's girl. Until then, she preferred me (especially in the evenings), but now it is ALL Dada. She cries when he walks out the door to work and then goes crazy with excitement when he gets home. It's adorable to watch. (Not gonna lie, it's somewhat heartbreaking when she chooses Daddy over me, but I'm very grateful that she has so much fun with him.)

5. Trying to pull up - She hasn't totally gotten this down yet, but she's definitely trying. Haley is already cruising so Riley watches her and tries to mimic what she's doing.

6. Being a social butterfly - Since she was born, Riley has been a people person. She is always concerned with what Haley's doing all day and Haley hardly notices Riley. It's funny to watch.

Here are some pictures from this weekend. I have lots more but it takes a long time to upload them to blogger. Anyone know a way to make it faster? Just curious.
